Because the answer is; I can do anything
Observers don't change the world: participants and question-askers change the world.
Questions are powerful: they can completely shift the direction of a conversation, shift the energy in a room, and transform our understanding of the world.
Questions are the first step to living a better story.
What is one thing in your life that you're covering?
Create a powerful story about yourself, your mission, and your truth. When you have a powerful story and mission that's bigger than yourself, it's a lot easier to do something that scares you because you're working towards a vision you want to create in the world.
It takes courage to show up, it takes courage to live your truth, and even more courage to do so every. Damn. Day.
It's hard that even, in 2017, I still have to stomach such archaic bullshit in this industry, and that I have male counterparts that feel that my successes are mere folly of luck, and not what I've done.
Whatever field youâre in, youâve got to find the scariest [makes fun bleeping noise]âing thing in your area of profession, and then do it. I mean the scariest thing. The thing like âNguuuh, I better not touch that!â Touch that, grab it, get on it, and then you can go beyond it.
You canât get to the light without first going through the darkness. The only reason you know what light looks like is cause you were first in darkness.
And weâre in this dark timeâŠbut the cycle of life, the sun rises everyday and it goes back to darkness. You were born in the light and then you go back to the earth into the dark. After food is done and life is going back to its compostable state, it goes back to the dark. That is the natural cycle, the only thing that can happen after darkness is light. The only thing!
Your tribe are the people who see you as your superhero self, even if you haven't gotten there yet.
We need super extraordinary humans to be able to solve these extraordinary challenges we're currently facing. You can't say that you care about the planet, that you care about your community if you're not being a superhero.
It doesn't matter how much money you have, it doesn't matter how successful you become; if you are not living your mission, you are not happy. You are not fulfilled. You are feeling a void and it's never going to go away if you don't claim your mission.
I was obsessed with materialism. Obsessed with the 'American Dream' - it turned me into a robot.
I wanted to tell the truth, which is the scariest thing that I've ever done in my life.
