About the speaker
Kelley Howley owns Hunt & Gather, a modern-vintage home decor and interior design studio space in Grand Rapids, MI. She also works part-time for Grand Valley State University in Marketing. Kelley is passionate about creating spaces that are modern, but full of personality. She collaborates on a daily basis with local artists, shop owners, and community members with her dog, Harper, in toe. After 2.5 years, Hunt & Gather recently moved from a traditional retail space in East Hills to an industrial/studio space on the the west side of Grand Rapids. Her home has been featured on Design Sponge & A Beautiful Mess, and her work/shop has been featured in Grand Rapids Magazine & Driftless Magazine.

It's important to envision the end goal. You can't help others meet their goals unless you have yours clearly defined first.
Clearly, I'm not a shy person but, when it comes to networking, honestly I could like lay in bed and agonize over it. I don't want to do it. It feels really icky to me. But I think that's because maybe we should be thinking of it more as collaboration. Going into these experiences thinking "how can we work together?" "How can we make the whole better for both of us?" It just has a different connotation.
