When I'm on my deathbed I think I'll be present as I've never been present ever before. I want to savor every moment that I'm there; I think it's going to be exciting.

I'm not afraid to die. What I'm afraid of is becoming irrelevant, or invisible in my culture and in my society today.

What was shocking to me is that my society at that time approved standing by your man and suffering an abusive relationship more than they approved of a woman getting a divorce.

As I get older, I start thinking how much [fiddling] enriches my life and what a key component it is in my happiness.

Zealously pursue small delights and diversions, especially little artistic ones.

You have an innate ability to connect.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, can replace face-to-face communication.

The worst punishment, besides death, is solitary confinement.

I believe in connecting. We all do it. We all need it. And, we don't get enough of it.

To cross certain boundaries is to die and be reborn as another person. Trust bravely in love. Be down, but not out.

There is no change without consequence.

Never let money be the driver, money is the outcome. Focus on passion and you’ll get money.

If you want to succeed in life, don't wait to be asked.

If you talk about revolution, you're actually talking about risk. You can't have revolution without risk.

I thought, how do I make this an awesome project? And then the thing that happened that was a bonus, was that that awesome wasn't an awesome for my portfolio, it wasn't an awesome for my reel. It was an awesome for somebody else.

Think about not what you can do, but what can be done.

Leave room for the unexpected.

One of the hardest things in the creative process actually is saying no and you have to say no in order to make progress.

A lot of people don't see the 'lean startup' methodology as a systematic way to fail.

If you don't feel uncomfortable then it's too late.

You do not need to make other people happy, you need to make yourself happy and then other people will be happy to be around you.

Make a difference, not just money.

Inspiration expires.

If you succeed or fail, at least you're going to have a story to tell.
