About the speaker

Salma Abdelrahman, an Egyptian-American, is dedicated to sharing stories. Through her video project, Fabula Rasa, Salma aims to capture the power of storytelling and utilize it to create positive change. Fabula Rasa aims to invoke empathy through innovative storytelling, utilizing whiteboard animations and voice over in order to share the stories of marginalized and oppressed groups. Salma has created this platform in order to create a sense of understanding and compassion in her school and community. She hopes to attend Law School with a focus on Human Rights Law and work at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. after finishing grad school. In her free time, Salma enjoys reading the famous works of civil rights activists such as W.E.B Dubois and James Baldwin, and watching reruns of her favorite TV Shows, The Office and Parks and Recreation.
