“Honey, it’s going to be alright.”
Paul Scott nearly died. Not once, not twice, but day in and day out for years. His story is about more than survival, it is about how to appreciate the little things that make life worth living.
About the speaker

Paul Scott has served in the nonprofit sector for twenty-two years, joining AIDS Services of Austin in March 2010 as Executive Director.
Paul served on the Executive Committee for One Voice Central Texas from 2011-2016, an advocacy organization for over ninety central Texas health and human services nonprofits, serving as Chair of the organization in 2012. He also has served on several local and national board of directors, advocating for both people with HIV and LGBT persons in Tennessee and Texas.
He is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and received his Bachelor of Arts from Emory University and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Georgia. After practicing civil litigation for nine years, he changed careers and focused on nonprofit management. He and his husband Scott Simons have lived in Austin since 2006.
