Josh Coombes speaks on the importance of looking past stereotypes to find a real person.

Josh Coombes, hair stylist and leader of the philanthropic movement #DoSomethingForNothing speaks on giving dignity to the homeless and how pushing past stereotypes and preconceptions allows us to find real connections with people.

About the speaker

Josh Coombes is a hairdresser, community hero and movement maker.

In 2015 he started to reach out to the homeless in his city and offer them free hair cuts and started using the hashtag #DoSomethingForNothing.

#DoSomethingForNothing is a movement born from the idea that we are all able to do something for someone; for nothing.

Today, the movement is not only international but has been featured in The Telegraph, Metro and the front page of Mashable. Now Josh is travelling to new countries to tell the stories of those who feel unheard.

“Hairdressing is how I can help make someone smile, but the idea is much bigger. It’s about connecting with someone in a human way, we’re all capable of that. We’re using social media to mobilise people to love on their communities, all over the world. “
