Make it happen together!

It was about connections between people that didn’t know each other, it was about why things mean something and matter to us and it was about a very simple but still important message that even reading can be resisting.

Revolution I think doesn’t happen through generalised sentiment it usually happens because people are riled up about something very specific that’s happening in their communities.

Arts organisations often do exploit communities, sometimes in quite a knowing way.

Absolutely crucial for us as a company and for a national company is a strong sense of the local.

The human part of me is really letting me down, it kind of feels like drawing has become a contact sport, and my body is in bits… nothing has taken a toll on my body like this project.

My family have got really manly jobs they’re welders, steel fabricators, plumbers, electricians, miners and I’m educated in the arts and I’m a vegetarian!

If I can pick it up and rub it and it doesn’t disintegrate, then I’m going to draw it.

Everything regardless of size would have equal importance.

I thought it’d be great if my 'drawing a day book' for 2014 was going to be all the items from my grandfather’s tool shed.

If you’ve got something to shout about, just go big guns, don’t wrap it up in a veneer of being all honest and modest.

Be aware of the ‘humblebrag’!
