No one sets out to become irrelevant, but many of us find ourselves there when we become too busy for meaningful progress. play redirect heart
Mindfulness is this idea that you confront the emotions that you’re having right when they are happening instead of pushing them away. That has a lot to do too with the things you do on a regular basis. “Oh I need to call my mum, oh I need to make that appointment”. Instead of saying “Oh I’ll do it tomorrow” and letting it fester, creating this big ball of anxiety, to really confront it head on. play redirect heart
I am very grateful that I was raised hearing stories of survival. My parents left Chile from the dictatorship…and there was never once in that rhetoric we are victims, or there is hate or revenge. It was always we will survive, we have to believe in the better of human kind, we have to overcome, there is such a thing as peace, there is such a thing as dignity. play redirect heart
You can’t break the rules without acknowledging what the rules are, if you continue to follow all the rules, you will continue to make the same artwork that everybody creates. And so what is true to you? What is true to your own voice? play redirect heart

To be a creative individual takes work, it takes an effort to maintain it. Because school teaches it out of you, because they want you to 'get in line'. To 'learn the rules', so we can get 'uniform students'. You know, As Bob Dylan says, '20 years of school and then they put you on the day shift.' You know - factory workers. play redirect heart
And take care of the millennial friends that you have around you, because they're not mad at you and they're not bad people. They were dealt the same bad had you were dealt. Don't demand that they take care of you, take care of them. And that's part of the problem, there's an entire section in the book shop called "Self Help", and there's no section in the book shop called "Help Others." play redirect heart
