About the speaker
Thomas Kunze works as a coach and has worked as a grammar school teacher for 12 years. He teaches Game-Based Learning at Danube University Krems and Luxemburg University and is the founder of Games Institute Austria, an initiative that focuses on the use and research of game-based or gamified approaches to educational and communication contexts. He has studied linguistics and literature and has acquired a teaching certificate for grammar schools.
He was born in Germany and came to Austria in 2008. He lives in Vienna and Lower Austria and is an avid (intellectual) gamer as well as an advocate to a playful approach to education and communication. He likes to insist on the taboo that commercial computer games are going to radically change the way we learn within schools as well as in other educational contexts.
