Focusing on the ‘fun'damentals
Suzanne talks about how key moments in her life tie in with her work as an illustrator. She talks about how important it is to stick to doing what you love and remembering to say ‘no’ when you need to.
About the speaker
Suzanne Carpenter has spent one lifetime working as an illustrator, designer, workshop facilitator and writer of ridiculous rhymes. She is a daily doodler and a self confessed Instagram addict who has worked on a diverse range of projects for publishing, publicity and print. You may know her as @illustrator_eye
14 months ago she and her husband Chris sold their shares in Stills Branding in order to start a new life and fulfil their dream of working together full time as a creative partnership. They set up surface pattern studio ‘Patternistas’ to work with manufacturers and interior designers who want to break away from the bland and put smiles on faces. They launched their first range of contract furnishing fabrics at Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 and were shortlisted for both FX magazine and a Mix Interiors magazine Surface Design Award.
Suzanne will talk about a few of the significant moments that have influenced her creative life and discuss the effects of social media’s daily drip feed of both significant and insignificant moments from around the globe.
