Tony Cherry, CEO of Cherry Pick’d Boxing, has built his life around the sweet science known as boxing. Fascinated with boxing from a young age, Tony quickly discovered a natural talent for the sport - winning Silver Gloves, Golden Gloves, and multiple state championships. But his path was not without challenges. A series of serious injuries, including surgeries to both shoulders and a knee, ultimately shifted his focus from competition to family.
While stepping back from the ring could have been an ending, for Tony it was the beginning of something greater. Boxing had already given him more than medals: discipline, lifelong connections, and even the foundation of his family. He met his wife in a local gym, and together they turned their shared passion into purpose. By 2018, Tony was partnering with the City of Richmond to use boxing as an outlet for at-risk youth. What began as a way to mentor kids on probation grew into a community hub offering adult group sessions, women’s boxing programs, and a competitive team.
Today, Cherry Pick’d Boxing continues to expand its impact - keeping youth active, providing safe outlets, and promoting healthy lifestyles through fitness and nutrition.
