About the speaker

Molly C. Meng (she/her), born in Los Angeles, CA in 1970, studied literature with a personal minor in collecting other people's lives. An obsession with old ledgers, vintage photos. and every single discarded book that exists, her work re-imagines the untold stories behind the otherwise forgotten items of every day. A self-taught artist, the medium of collage mastered in both paper and textiles, is Molly's dominant form of communicating. She successfully layers the elements of ephemera and storytelling into each piece she creates.

In her talk, "Of Which We Are Made," Molly will discuss how we are all made up of layers from every experience we have, every living thing we engage with, and how her artwork is a direct outpouring of the energy that is produced from & with layers of vintage ephemera, paper, and photos.
