CreativeMornings Portsmouth is a local chapter of the global breakfast lecture series for the creative community. We seek to spark connections through a celebration of the Seacoast’s creative voices. Run entirely by volunteers and supported by amazing local partners, CreativeMornings Portsmouth is powered by an engine of generosity. We believe in face-to-face connections, high-fives, and giving a damn.

CMPKX Statement on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice

CreativeMornings Portsmouth recognizes that diverse, inclusive communities cultivate better creative conversations and ideas; they help make a positive, lasting impact on the neighborhoods and the world around us.

We want our events to be a safe space where all perspectives are valued, where our differences are celebrated, and where underrepresented voices are amplified. We stand against any actions that attempt to silence, threaten or marginalize individuals or communities.

Here is our statement on diversity, equity, inclusion and justice, a living document:

The Portsmouth chapter of CreativeMornings is committed to reflecting diversity, pursuing equity and ensuring inclusion for all of our events. We believe everyone is creative, and we welcome all speakers, our audience, and team members regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, ability, or any other dimension of diversity.

Our chapter will be intentional in our actions to:

Uphold justice. We recognize the historical and systemic barriers that communities continue to face, and we commit to identifying and dismantling these barriers within our community. We support you.

Create equity. We will work to make our events a space where everyone can share their creative ideas and stories. We are beside you.

Cultivate diversity. We embrace the many facets that make us different and actively foster diversity among our speakers and audience. We want to hear from you.

Practice inclusion. We commit to practices that include, value, and encourage all voices to participate. You are welcome here.

This is an ever-evolving document. While we assume good intentions from our community and our team, we know there will be missteps along the way. We welcome constructive critique, and commit to acknowledge our mistakes, learn from them, and move forward.
