Maryam Ghaffari

Got Soul was founded as a charity in 2012 by Maryam Ghaffari, one of UK’s “Street Soul Divas” with over 25 years experience of working with vocal groups, bands, soloists and choirs.

She has a First Class Hons Degree in Music with Visual Practice from the University of Brighton where she became a guest lecturer.

Alongside music she has qualifications in
psychotherapy and teaching. Maryam Ghaffari has achieved musical success and industry recognition by appearing on various compilation albums as well as being a judge on BBC One’s 2018 singing competition All Together Now.

Maryam’s talk will explore her inspiration for setting up Edinburgh’s Got Soul Choir and how her commitment to herself, her true purpose, and her life’s joy has created a community that helps people out of isolation - a community with a real legacy.’
