Refining dance as a paralyzed choreographer and performer
At the age of 20, a head on collision left Marc Brew, an accomplished dancer, paralyzed. Dance has shaped his identity, career, and body, so after becoming physically disabled Marc faced an asymmetrical life outlook. He took that challenge to learn new ways to communicate, translate, and participate in movement. As a choreographer Marc provides dancers with a new vocabulary that enhances their creativity, aiming to redefine expectations of physicality for both performers and audiences. Through integrative dance, he hopes to inspire, activate, and hold space for all kinds of movement and expression. Marc is currently Artistic Director at AXIS Dance Company and Associate Artistic Director at Ballet Cymru
