About the speaker
LaKeisha Wolf was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and is the Executive Director of Hill District-based non-profit Ujamaa Collective, focusing on the business affairs and cooperative development of emerging Africana women-owned craft enterprises. A 2007 graduate of NASCO’s Emerging Cooperative Leaders Program, she also holds a BA in Communications from Penn State University. LaKeisha has over 15 years experience in community organizing and leadership development. She is a poet, artist and entrepreneur; founding a micro-enterprise shortly after graduation called EnjoyourSelf, crafting gemstone jewelry and creating natural body and hair care products under her personal brand, E-Ma’s. Currently studying to become a certified medical herbalist, LaKeisha has ambitions of contributing to a healing arts movement that uses culture and creativity to help individuals achieve a deeper sense of health. For the past seven years, she has facilitated workshops with youth and adults on the health, economic, and environmental impacts of toxins and chemicals in personal care products, specifically to help women of color make more informed choices about their overall wellness and that of the community.
