“Purpose” can exist in all sizes and dimensions, separately, or even all at once. This month’s virtual exploration of Purpose was a beautiful talk with Lisa Fassl and Joseph Kap-herr. What drives them in their work? What makes them light up inside? What brings them peace?

About the speaker

Joseph Kap-herr studied social management and political science at the University of Vienna and co-founded the social business Sindbad. Through different experiences in the fields of NGO’s, Joseph was able to collect insights into the operating principles of non-profit initiatives. As the regional manager of a political movement, he was able to acquire abilities as a team leader, in public relations, mobilisation and programmatic positioning. With that know-how and the heartfelt desire of a society connected through all living environments, he wants Sindbad to become a motor for justice in equal opportunities and education.

Active in the Austrian startup community for several years, Lisa Fassl got to know the ecosystem from different angles. Starting her startup career in a project similar to Pokemon Go, she soon realized that she’s passionate about supporting and developing young companies. After spending several years in the research field she became the Managing Director of the Austrian Angel Investors Association. In 2016 she co-founded Female Founders, an organization that aims to change economy and society by fostering entrepreneurial leadership. Female Founders currently runs different programs, among them a startup accelerator for female-led ventures from all over Europe and a female leadership program for corporate talent. In addition she serves on several advisory boards of public and private organizations.
