Understanding purpose can make hard things easier and can make impossible things doable.
If the spark of inspiration hits you--you want to write a novel, you want to start a podcase, you want to change jobs, whatever it is--start to go out and explore that without trying to learn everything first.
Just let the mind wander and go to where it wants to discover.
If something makes you angry, do something about it.
Up until a month ago, I thought my purpose meant something else; I thought my purpose was to succeed.
All these things and all these inspiring stories, right, and I'm like, I'm just trying to teach my kid 7th grade math!
It's not about the work, it's about you; how you think about it, how you feel about it.
I get paid to be James Victore! ... It means I don't have to make anything up!
You guys have dreams.
Making work that matters means making work that matters to you.
You came here...to fully experience the things that made you weird as a kid. The things that made you weird as a kid, make you great today.
Your purpose is your North Star. It's a path that you follow... It's how we follow through with our commitment to ourselves.
A purpose is a reason to get out of the bed in the morning.
While I'm grateful to have projects that speak directly to representation and inclusion, a lot of the times my impact is outside of that work. Whether it is the topic or not, I approach all projects with the same purpose of infusing diversity and representation into the work that I do.
As a Black woman working in the [design and creative] field, I face a lot of adversity.
It was clear to me that I needed to get to know my true unique voice as a creative. Spend some time with her.
My work has a spirit to it, a character, and a charm that brings smiles to people's faces.
Purpose can come to you throughout your life. You don't necessarily have to have been born with a purpose; it can merge over time. Give it time, it's not a race.
