About the speaker
James Lindsey is an American songwriter and rapper from Louisville, KY. WeListenForYou blog said James has an “endless ability to interpret sounds and morph his lyrical approach to shifting melodies” and PasteMagazine once compared him to the likes of Kid Cudi and Lupe Fiasco. James was introduced to the music world under the pseudonym Jalin Roze and released three projects underneath the name. Most notably his critically acclaimed mixtape “Grand National Dreams” in 2013, blended jazz synth inspired tracks with James unrivaled ability to provide deep, descriptive storytelling. The mixtape generated him the respect to be a featured artist at Louisville’s largest music festival Forecastle Festival; alongside acts like Outkast and Jack White. Much success followed as Consequence Of Sound rated James set as one of the top 10 of the entire weekend. His tours have also led him to performances at major music festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, and Bunbury Festival to name a few. Most recently James is seen headlining festivals in his hometown performing at colleges and performing alongside acts such as Chance The Rapper, Big Sean and Jeremih. James is due for a breakout especially after inking a indie deal with label Sonablast Records. His highly anticipated EP Same Sky released in January 2017 to great reviews.
