About the speaker

Meet our December speaker: Michael Millions, a two-time Grammy-nominated rapper, songwriter, producer, and studio engineer from Richmond, Virginia whose work sits at the intersection of craft, culture, and innovation.

Emerging from Virginia’s rich creative lineage, Michael built his reputation on thoughtful lyricism, cinematic storytelling, and a relentless dedication to independent artistry. His discography — including The Color Purple, Ghost of $20 Bills, Beautiful, and Hard to Be King — and the rumored Find Your Way album with producer and musician DJ Harrison reflects more than 2 decades of intentional, self-defined evolution and continues to position him as one of the region’s most respected voices
 and pair of ears!!

Beyond his work as an artist, Michael is a deeply accomplished engineer and creative architect. He owns and operates a private recording studio called The Purple House- a boutique space known for its precision, warmth, and obsessive attention to detail. Inside those walls, Michael has completed over 150 albums, collaborating with artists across genres while shaping sound with the same emotional honesty that colors his own music. His hands-on mastery — from vocal production to songwriting to final mix decisions — has made him a trusted partner for creators who value quality, authenticity, and a grounded creative process.

Michael’s two Grammy nominations further underscore his impact and technical excellence, placing him among a rare group of artists who move fluidly between performance and production at the highest level. Whether he’s building full projects, helping brands translate story into sound, or pushing new creative directions,

Michael brings a balance of artistry, discipline, and cultural fluency that resonates with both audiences and collaborators, orators.
