About the speaker
Geoffrey Lilge is a founding partner and Design Director for housewares manufacturer OnOurTable Ltd. and site furnishings manufacturer AREAWORKS Ltd., based in Edmonton, Canada. From 1994 to 2003 he was a founding partner of Pure Design Ltd., as Design Director he collaborated with many innovative designers to develop products for the company. Pure Design products were featured in the showrooms of Issey Miyake and Paul Smith as well as international retailers including the MoMA Design Store, Design Within Reach (US), Colette (Paris), IDEE (Tokyo) and the Conran Shop (UK). The collection was exhibited internationally and was awarded the 2001 ICFF Editor’s Award for Furniture. Pure Design was listed in the MoMA Design Encyclopedia in 2003.
His design work has received awards from Accent on Design, Virtu, Canadian Interiors, and has been published in The New York Times, Wallpaper*, Azure, Monocle, Abitare, Intramuros, Food & Wine and has been featured in the books Design in Canada (Knopf, 2001), Desire (Gestalten, 2008) and 1000 Product Designs, (Rockport, 2010).
