About the speaker
Fátima São Simão was born in Porto, in 1981, where she completed her studies in Economics at the University of Porto. She lived in the UK, where she did her MA in Cultural Policy and Management, at City University of Porto. Since 2009, Fátima works at UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto, where she has been managing its creative center and lately became director of development. Fátima is the executive director of Futureplaces.org - medialab for citizenship and the public lead of Creative Commons Portugal. She is currently doing a phd research about the effects of copyright in the development of economic and symbolic value, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.

The wonderful Espiga is just in front of Jardim do Carregal in downtown Porto, just a few minutes’ walk from Cordoaria and the main entrance of Santo António Hospital. There are both public and private parking spaces in the area if you are driving. If you take public transport the nearest metro station is Aliados, about 10 minutes’ walk.
