About the speaker
Nneka Ude is a marketer and brand strategist who thrives at the intersection of data and identity. A Chicago native, she has spent over a decade driving brand, shopper and experiential strategy for some of Chicago’s most prominent ad agencies. Currently she serves as a VP, Strategy Director for Leo Burnett’s shopper marketing unit, Arc Worldwide; leading shopper strategy for Intel Global; brand strategy for U.S. Cellular Corporation; and multicultural data/research opportunities within the larger Creative Collective.
A whitespace thinker and strategic leader, Nneka has empowered how brands in CPG, Tech, Alcohol Beverage, and Appliances navigate the complexities of people, tech, and culture. Since 2013 she has consistently split her time between the Chicago advertising and the city’s multicultural startup/business scene, consulting with tech startups including Black Tech Mecca, Citispoon, and Desirelist. In 2018, she created a web series exploring the nuanced experiences and perspectives of Black founders and creators called “The Xchange.”
Her passion for people is also embodied in the work she does within the community. She currently sits on the boards of the Nautilus School, Neighborhood Housing Services (associate board), an active volunteer with The Gray Matter Experience, and is a member of the Cook County Council on Digital Equity (CODE).
Nneka is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and holds a MBA in Marketing from Loyola University Chicago. In 2020, she was selected for the 4A’s Vanguard Fellowship. In 2021 she was one of four recipients of The Chicago Advertising Federation’s Rising Star Award. Nneka Is also the owner of the sustainable retail e-commerce brand, LOVE DOT.
