About the speaker
Brian Farrell is a Calgary educator, vocal coach and artistic mentor.
He’s as unique as the artists and projects he has collaborated with.
For Farrell, music lives in the heart. Music is intrinsic to the fabric of daily living. Farrell’s education: a B.Mus.A.(Hons.) and B.Ed. from Western University in London, studies at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, Western Michigan University and M.A. from San Diego State University. Farrell established Brian Farrell Music Inc. with a focus on vocal coaching, artistic mentorship and music workshops.
Session guests have included the casts of Broadway musicals, actors from television and stage including: Didi Conn, Ted Dykstra, Dudley Moore, managers of renowned Canadian artists, Jann Arden, Paul Brandt, Lindsay Ell, Sutton Foster, Bob Halligan, Raghav, Sarah McLachlan, Jimmy Rankin, Meaghan Smith, Tim Williams, Gloria Saarinen, Brett Manning and Lister Sinclair.
Current and former singers include Paul Brandt, Kiesza, Ashwin Sood, Lindsay Ell, Theo Fleury, Tareya Green, Jason Hastie, Dayna Manning, the Parkinson’s singing group, Kalan Porter, Kirby Sewell and others who have dedicated their lives to the arts. He’s founder of Turntable Creative Class, a performance showcase for artists that he and manager Neil MacGonigill offer. Ashwin Sood and Brian developed The Reboot Lab, a workshop to help musicians navigate the current business of music and hone their musical skills. Over the past two years, Brian judged the Peak Performance Project and Project Wild in Calgary where over $225,000 was allocated towards the artistic development of the award award winners.
As Artistic Director of Revv52, he has collaborated with some of the finest talent to establish a unique Canadian vocal ensemble that “pushes the bounds of artistic performance”. In March 2016, Revv52 performed a sold out performance at the world renowned Carnegie Hall in New York City.
