The first edition of Creative Mornings Melbourne kicked off on Friday 29th of June, with creative types and curious ears strolling out to The Compound Interest in Collingwood to hear Tim Devine & Jesse Stevens of Media Lab talk about art, technology and the importance of critical design.

About the speaker

Alluring technologies will continue to develop and feed our everyday experiences, and although a great amount of creativity is required in the development of technology, an equal amount is required in it’s application. Technology results in a plethora of architected or designed experiences, which are now a primary quality of modern life - throughout our homes, offices, transitional and social environments.

Tim Devine and Jesse Stevens cofounded Media Lab Melbourne with Pierre Proske to promote collaboration between artists, designers, scientists, technologists, couturiers, performers, players, crafters and creatives. Recently they collaborated on a haptic networked jewellery series connecting people with astronomical and planetary events and will soon try to redefine what a screen could be in their upcoming Sprint ANTISCREEN.
