About the speaker

Ashley Barnhill is a Texas-born stand-up comic, filmmaker, writer, actress, and author. Known for her subversively dark work and sharp, unnervingly precise delivery, she has toured worldwide with Dave Chappelle.

Her credits include Netflix and IFC’s Maron, Comedy Central’s Drunk History, and writing for TBS’s Drop the Mic. She has written, directed, edited, and starred in festival-winning short films, and was a Top 10 finalist on HBO’s Project Greenlight. She recently published her darkly comedic thriller Maeday, the first in the Darkstork series.

Ashley holds a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and she has a titanium-plated skull.
