Bringing entrepreneurship to the music industry.

In this segment of CreativeMornings, we tackle the theme of education through a different lens by inviting Anna Acquistapace. She takes through the ‘business’ problem within the music industry, and how to help artists succeed through branding and structure with a business minded approach.

About the speaker

Anna is a design strategist, researcher and producer with more than 10 years of experience making creative projects come to life in film, art, music and product design. Curious about everything human, she loves to uncover insights into what people need and want, and use them to inspire invention. As cofounder of Zoo Labs, she is currently building a place to explore the future of sustainable careers in music—as exemplified by the Zoo Labs Music Residency (ZLMR), an immersive incubator for music teams.

Prior to that, she helped clients such as Samsung, GE, Hyundai and Nike understand how to design relevant, meaningful products for their consumers. Anna also lived in Paris, France where she worked as a film and art producer, helped launch a startup jewelry brand, and curated art shows with her friends. From her many years of studying politics, she is acutely aware of, and at times heartbroken by, the messy world we live in. But, she has found room to believe at the intersections of art, design, business and the other beautiful spaces where people find each other to dream. She holds an MBA from California College of the Arts and a Masters in International Development from Sciences-Po Paris.
