Adam Shuck gets real about glass.
Adam dives in to his love of Pittsburgh and the history of glass-making in the city.
About the speaker
Adam Shuck is the creator of Eat That, Read This, the lunchtime local news round-up e-newsletter that has informed and entertained Pittsburghers at home and abroad for over 300 issues. He is also the co-founder and editor of The Glassblock, a web magazine of Pittsburgh--currently crowdfunding to pay local writer and artist contributors--that will be launching in early 2016.
A native of Frederick County, Maryland, Adam studied German and Linguistics at NYU. To pay the bills over the years, he has led tours through the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, picked vintage clothing and home decor, translated German legal documents into English, and sold watches at a jewelry counter in the largest department store in the country. He boasts once having traveled to each of Pittsburgh's ninety neighborhoods in the span of eleven hours, but today he and his partner live in just one.
