So many of us are just trying to be really good at what we do, that we're sacrificing our humanity.

I don't just want to be really good at what I do; yet, at the same time, be really weak at who I am. Because I have a belief that if you're really at who you are, you're gonna be incredible at what you do.

We think we're supposed to be passionate about waht we do, but when we are passionate about who we are, it changes everything about what we do.

When you give space to other people, new ideas will come up. You’ll surprise yourself, too.

I tried to come up with small rules, to have the overview of control, but also space to breathe.

You don't have to inherit your community, you can build it.

What that comes down to when you're looking to build a community and evolve, is opportunity.

In Ottawa and Gatineau [...] we commute and use the bridges. There are four bridges, why not build a fifth one? A virtual one, and meet together and get interest in the other culture.

If we can create spaces where people get out of their comfort zone, get to know their neighbours, and share a meal with someone who's different than them, then that's part of the way to a place where food banks aren't needed anymore.

You cannot be everything to everyone. If you're going to have a community, be specific about what it is that you want to do.

You need to understand, when things get hard, why you want to keep on going.

Voices that are on the outside—how can we bring them to the inside of our community cypher?

What’s the song that we want to sing in our communities?

We can’t have vibration and music without difference. Difference is beautiful.

Finding internal peace is very strong, in that it keeps you focused on your goal, and it does not deviate you from your own goal, even in the middle of chaos.

For us to find global peace, we need to find internal peace before we strive toward it.

Finding that purpose, usually, after becoming lost, is the reason that gives you motive to wake up the next morning and become who you are.

When you hold a grudge against someone , it's like setting a fire inside of you. It's gonna burn you, while he's not even aware of what you have against him.

We are in a very difficult time globally, where there is a lot of tension happening, and we do need more magnanimous people.
