So often we want to look for the answer outside of ourselves. We hope that we can buy something or someone will tell us something that is going to be the magic words that we need to hear in order to be self-satisfied. But all of that is going to come from within ourselves and it all starts with the intention to be ourselves. play redirect heart
What I didn't realize is that every human being is dealing with so much emotional distress at all times. Every single one of us is carrying a story that is layered and has wounds that are often gaping open. And yoga, as a practice, allows us to be able to accept those wounds, to be able to see and love the trauma, to be able to sit in a space of compassion within the self so that we can then reflect that compassion to others. play redirect heart
The more we try to make sense of chaos, the more we try to hold on to the things outside of ourselves that we cannot control, the more out of control we become. play redirect heart
What if journalists covered controversial issues differently based on how humans actually behave when they are polarized and suspicious. play redirect heart
These three pillars of wellness, impact and work have been critical to me reclaiming my life, and for me to remain steady when chaos hits. play redirect heart

The medicine for my suffering I had within me from the very beginning, but I did not take it. My ailment came from within myself but I did not observe it until this moment. Now I see that I will never find the light, unless, like the candle, I am my own fuel. ~Bruce Lee play redirect heart

I started to think a lot about how the process of making art there was much different. I not only had limited means, which aided creativity, but I was also free from a lot of pressures that our society can put on people in terms of what they're making, or whether or not they're getting paid for it. I was able to find this different type of freedom on the inside—freedom from pressures to have 'things,' to want a 'nice car,' or these impulses that are created artificially in our brains and need to be exercised. play redirect heart

And I was determined not to feel like that at the end of the sentence, that I hadn't lost these years, but instead actually gained something. play redirect heart
When you're with somebody who's experiencing anxiety, the worst thing to say is "it's going to be okay." The best thing we can do is to be with them... not try to take anything away from them... to add to their lives. play redirect heart
Look at how are we not taking care of each other? Is there another way to proceed? play redirect heart
