In 2008, Tina Roth Eisenberg, also known as Swissmiss, started CreativeMornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: breakfast and a short talk one Friday morning a month. Every event would be free of charge and open to anyone.

Today, attendees gather in 224 cities around the world to enjoy fresh coffee, friendly people, and an international array of breakfast foods. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. We call ourselves an engine of generosity and live by our manifesto

CreativeMornings Everett’s previous host has since stepped down so we are now looking for a replacement. Could this be you?

If you are:

- passionate about your local creative community in Everett
- psyched to lead a small volunteer team to put your own spin on CreativeMornings
- excited to participate in the global conversation among our chapters
- one to use the words humble, driven, resourceful, generous and connected to describe yourself

We’d love to hear from you! If interested, complete our standard New Chapter Application and we’ll be in touch.

There will be follow up interviews for the top candidates.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Everything you do has the power to create its own ripple effect. Like an object breaking the water’s surface, our actions can cause a series of ever-expanding waves of impact stretching far beyond our individual reach.

Whether we theorize it with dominos, snowballs, or butterflies – it’s about momentum, and as momentum builds, even the smallest actions can end up having a profound impact.

One voice can inspire a movement, a single act of kindness can save a life. No matter how minuscule it may seem in the moment, what you do matters.

This month, we invite you to pay attention to your personal ripple effect. To examine how your impact expands beyond your inner circle and find ways to pay positivity forward. If you’re feeling brave, this month can be a time to explore the depths of your world. Dare to plunge below the surface and invite deeper connection in.

Our Tel Aviv chapter chose this month’s exploration of Ripple and Masha Manapov illustrated it.

Making monthly CreativeMornings Everett events takes a full team of wonderful volunteers. As we grow as a chapter, we are also hoping to grow our core volunteer team!

Would you care to join us?

Here are a few roles we are hoping to fill for 2021:

Event moderators are the secret heroes during virtual events. Knowledge of the Zoom platform is a plus! Virtual event responsibilities may include:

  • Monitoring the chat for questions from attendees, and answering them accordingly.
  • Helping attendees with Zoom technical issues, such as being sorted into an empty breakout room.
  • Resolving emergency conflicts (something we have yet to experience thankfully!)

We need help ensuring our social channels are fun, engaging, and up-to-date. Some responsibilities would include:

  • Posting updates from the official CreativeMornings Everett Instagram and Twitter accounts during live events.
  • Posting pre-event posts to encourage event engagement.
  • Posting post-event posts with follow-up information.
  • Optional but fun: posting periodic highlights from our creative community.

This role is more abstract, but our ideal team members are those who:

  • Have fun ideas to share about speakers, musical guests, virtual interactive experiences, and any other crazy schemes.
  • Want to facilitate connections between CreativeMornings and local creatives and businesses.
  • Want to help plan gatherings, both virtual and in-person.

Perks of volunteering with CreativeMornings Everett:

  • Being part of a growing team seeking to make Snohomish County creatives more connected.
  • Behind-the-scenes knowledge on CreativeMornings themes, announcements, and future opportunities.
  • Your CreativeMornings profile featured in the Team section of the Everett About page.
  • 2 months of free Skillshare, thanks Skillshare! (valid until March 1, 2021)
  • Does your employer have a paid time off policy for volunteering? CreativeMornings Everett is supported by the 501c3 nonprofit the Everett Creatives Society, which means your volunteer hours are eligible for such programs.

If you would like to get involved in any of these roles, email us at everett@creativemornings.com Talk to you soon!

February’s Theme is Divergent

Technologist, author, and designer John Maeda explains, “A divergent thinker takes an idea and expands it. They look for new ways to connect it with other diverse things […] I’m in favor of a synthesis to connect the convergent and divergent.”

As creators, builders, and thinkers, how can we get better at solving complex problems? A promising starting point is for us to be in the same spaces with those we’ve traditionally deemed different.

Moments of divergence can create beautiful futures when we are willing to leave space for change. Take a step back to reflect on what winds of change you want to welcome into your life today.

Our Valencia chapter chose this month’s exploration of Divergent and Núria Tamarit illustrated it. Presented by our Global Partner Basecamp / HEY.

January’s Theme is Promise

A promise is doing something “because I said I would.” Promises can come in all shades, depths, and forms: appointments, acts of kindness, creating and quitting habits, agreements, and resolutions. Thanks to life’s unpredictability, we make and break them all the time.

But what is the value and impact of being individuals of our word?

In the Albanian culture, the word “Besa” means a code of honor and faithfulness. It exceeds the meaning of merely keeping a promise, thus becoming mythologized in its divinity as a solemn oath.

Promises that are made and kept are exchanges of power.

We invite you to make and keep one promise to yourself and one promise to others this year. When applied towards positive impact, even the smallest fulfilled promises can create meaningful ripples of change.

Our Tirana chapter chose this month’s exploration of Promise and
the talented Jolin Matraku illustrated it.

Hello! I’m Anna, the host of the newest CreativeMornings chapter.

Now that our chapter has been officially approved, my volunteer team and I are excited to bring the first CreativeMornings/Everett event to all of you April 24th at the Schack Art Center in downtown Everett!

A bit about me

I first moved to Everett by accident in 2016, but have since proudly made it my home. My connections to the local blog Live in Everett introduced me to a city with charm, sass, and a whole lot of potential. The folks in Everett give a damn about their city, and so do I!

When not working on CreativeMornings planning, I’m a freelance graphic designer with a passion for print and visual communication. I’m also passionate about strong teams built on StrengthsFinder skills. My top 10 are restorative, deliberative, discipline, responsibility, intellection, achiever, input, focus, context, and individualization.

Fun fact: I was a college mascot for two years and loved every minute of it. However, I current stand at 5 foot 2 in, so I wasn’t tall enough to wear the jersey shorts for the bottom half of the costume 😂

A bit about the team

Every CreativeMornings event is free and run by a team of volunteers. We’re blessed to have these people on board!

Jake is our talented photographer based out of Kirkland, WA. When not shooting weddings in the summer and working as Creative Team Lead at Reach Church, he’s running around Everett documenting events put on by the city of Everett.

Peter is our talented videographer based out of Bothell, WA. He’s the owner of his video studio Circa Ninety One Productions, and is great at making people comfortable on camera. When not working on video projects, you can find him playing and creating music.
