About the speaker

Victoria, Vick Montaño (They/Them)
is a Po-scholar, interdisciplinary artist focussing on Indigenous Solidarity across seas and false man made borders, Queer liberation, the Land Back Movement, and reawakening/reclamation of Ancestral Knowledge. They were born, raised and are sustained in the Village of Huchiun which is now known as part of Oakland, Ca.
Vick carries lineages from the Yo’eme and Mexikah Nahua peoples from both sides of the Popocatétl Volcano in central Mexico, Puebla, Morelos and León Guanajuato. They are Land tender and protector advocating for the voiceless exposing truth and beauty through various mediums and most recently muraling on Ohlone Lands.
