I grew up all over the world. My parent's work as missionaries took my family to a small mining town in Mongolia, a sugar cane plantation in Barbados and an ancient city in Malta. I also loved writing and telling stories, specifically true and amazing stories - maybe because my life was full of them. I studied journalism and became an arts and entertainment reporter for a local newspaper. Journalism is a tough field, especially during the recession, so I pivoted into marketing and design. I've been bouncing around those worlds ever since. I worked as a digital producer at a public radio station and most recently managed a marketing team for a journalism school. I just moved to Oakland and I'm learning more into my design skills through a six-month UI/UX program.

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
