About the speaker
Tim Hunter joined WET in 1998 and is responsible for designing projects during their conceptual and design development phases. He develops ideas and solutions, creates project designs and plans, and aesthetically guides his projects from inception to completion.
Tim has designed water features for numerous high-profile projects including the 2002 Winter Olympic Games Cauldron in Salt Lake City; Mirage Volcano in Las Vegas; and Performance Lake at Wynn Macau. Tim has also choreographed several features including Tung Chung in Hong Kong, Burj Al Arab in Dubai, and the Millennium Celebration at Seattle Center.
Tim graduated from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) with a Bachelor of Fine Art in industrial design. While at RISD, Tim studied business and design in courses at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management. Tim also worked in Massachusetts designing hybrid agricultural tractors and in New York City building custom furniture. Pursuing his interests in music, Tim studied jazz performance at Brown University and plays drums semi-professionally. He is currently exploring new methods of combining electronics and sampling with live percussion, and devotes the rest of his spare time to designing and building jewelry and furniture.
