Be it day or night, the sky is just so beautiful to gaze at. Though apart from the sun, the moon, the clouds, and the overall blue shade; there are still more mystery than the ones we can see. As the man who manages the observatory, Evan Irawan Akbar is lucky enough to be able to peek into some of it through the eyes of Bosscha Observatory.
About the speaker
Evan is an astronomer at Bosscha Observatory and a faculty member in the Department of Astronomy, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). I have been interested in astronomy since I was a kid. I guess that every child is fascinated by the night sky with its countless bright stars and the lactic belt of our galaxy. He then took his hobby seriously and moved to Bandung to study astronomy in 2002. At the time of writing, Evan has 8 years of experience as public outreach scientist at the observatory where I deliver astronomy to media, public and school audiences. His academic research area is in stellar astrophysics.
