How Davy overcame his stammer with poetry
About the speaker
Happy February, fam! It’s been a minute.
We’ve been tiptoeing around a new year that feels much like the last one, yet different. As we find our bearings, we wanted to start 2021 off easy and with you, our community. To remember the lovely ways we're not so different after all.
Beginning with refreshing stretches led by Elise, we will hear from London-born musician and artist Uche BW, whose versatility is bound to wake us up, quite literally. Our speaker this month is Davy Lazare, Caribbean-born poet who used spoken word to overcome a debilitating stammer. His poems are filled with striking imagery and tell stories centered around masculinity, race, family and society.
