Stevie Ray tells the story of the birth of his Muse of Fire.

About the speaker

Stevie Ray is a teacher, actor, theater director, filmmaker, producer, writer, and unbelievably proud and lucky father of two amazing kids - Nate (17) and Rose (19).

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, he lived and worked in Los Angeles, Washington DC, and New York City before moving to Chattanooga 9 years ago. 

Stevie Ray’s professional acting credits include: Broadway (The Beauty Queen of Lenane, Stones in His Pockets, Henry IV w Kevin Kline and Ethan Hawke), Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway; Films (Ender’s Game, Hunger Games, Paper Towns, American Reunion, The Day After Stonewall Died - Cannes Short Film Festival Award-Winning short by local writer Anthony Sims and more); TV (Law and Order, Gossip Girl); commercials, and even video games (Grand Theft Auto). 

He is also the Director of Theater at McCallie School and the Artistic Director of The Muse of Fire Project in Chattanooga.  

Stevie Ray has adapted and directed two Muse of Fire Project kid-written scripts for the screen; he has written and directed two of his own short films, and has another in pre-production for Summer 2020. At McCallie, he is currently directing a modern version of Romeo and Juliet set in Verona, America 2019.  

Stevie Ray founded The Muse of Fire Project 9 years ago. TMOFP is a replication of The 52nd Street Project in NYC, where he volunteered as an actor and mentor.
