Sean Deveraux on love in work

About the speaker

Sean Devereaux likes to think of himself as a “digital illusionist”. I just like to say he’s the man behind the visual effects of more than 50 feature films, including Transformers, American Hustle, and the soon to be released The Magnificent Seven. He is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of ZERO VFX, a visual effects studio based in Boston and Los Angeles whose entire goal is to add that wow factor to the movies you love.

In his CreativeMornings talk on ‘Love’, Sean will share a bit of his own story, including how he finally got over the fears holding him back from pursuing the work he was meant to do.

“My best work and my best decisions always come when I follow my heart. I have found that my best work is created when I love what I’m doing and I believe that this is exactly what my clients pay me for, to fall in love with their project and follow my passion as I create it.

Whether we are creating something out of thin air or being asked to carry the torch of a long gestating project, if we don’t LOVE it, I don’t believe we will ever be able to do our best.

We started ZERO in my basement from a need to do what we love, in a city that we love. That small idea has grown into a bi-coastal studio with offices in both Venice and Boston where we create art seen around the world. I will share some of my work, my experience and yes, my love!”
