Scott talks about doing being curious, trying things, and doing crazy shit.
About the speaker
Scott B. Davis creates unorthodox photographs of light and darkness, treating these as sculptural objects rather than photographic documents. Working with large wooden cameras and a 19th-century printing process, his photographs invite viewers to participate in the act of looking and encourage us to celebrate the simple act of discovery.
Davis’ photographs have been exhibited internationally and reviewed by the New York Times, the New Yorker, and Los Angeles Times. His work is part of public collections including the J. Paul Getty Museum, Pier 24 Photography, the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, MOPA, and others.
In 2012, Davis founded the Medium Festival of Photography, a non-profit organization that brings contemporary artists to San Diego every October for artist lectures, exhibitions, and related events.
