Sonya Matejko

I write words and help people find them | Freelance writer | Part-time poet | Full-time wellness enthusiast | Soon-to-be published author | Founder of Nurtured Narratives at Nurtured Narratives.

Vienna, Austria

Sonya Matejko adores writing words and helping people find them(selves). As a writer, poet, author, and founder, she uses words to make people feel seen and heard (and does so using the Oxford comma). Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, Forbes, Business Insider, HuffPost, Yoga Journal, and more. Her writing will soon appear on bookshelves with Everlasting Spring, her debut poetry collection (Yorkshire Publishing, January 21, 2025). Sonya is also the founder of Nurtured Narratives, a writing services company rooted in wellness, where she helps brands and female founders tell their stories (well). Follow her poetry @aforceofnurture or connect with Sonya at www.sonyamatejko.com.

About this FieldTrip

Where do we go from here? Through a guided creative writing workshop, we’ll reflect on what’s come to pass and manifest what happens next. It’s time you turned the page and took back control of your story. We’ll kick things off first thing in the morning to start your day with an open mind and an open heart. Over 60 minutes, you can expect to express yourself on paper and release what’s holding you back to create more room for what you want. Let it out, write it out, and let’s re-envision your next chapter. No writing experience required!

About Sonya: Sonya Matejko is a writer, yoga teacher, and communications consultant in New York City. She’s on a mission to help people express and empower themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually. As a communications professional with years of experience building meaningful exposure for brands, she helps people rewrite, edit, and tell their stories—personally and professionally. Her writing has been featured on HuffPost, Elite Daily, Thought Catalog, Tiny Buddha, Darling and Yoga Magazine. Explore her work at @aforceofnurture on Instagram—a digital destination for self-expression.

How to make the most of FieldTrips

The FieldTrips experience is defined not only by what the host has to share, but also by how we show up individually and collectively. The way we show up impacts our capacity to be moved, inspired, and activated.

Show up fully

Get ready to be immersed! Engage with smiles, nods, waves, emojis. Share in the chat. Get cozy. Turn off notifications. Sip your favorite beverage.

Stay curious

Wear your beginner’s hat. Go with the flow. Welcome the stumbles and fumbles. Congratulate yourself for trying. Keep going!

Celebrate your host

Our hosts are members of the CreativeMornings community—just like you! Everyone comes to this with different backgrounds—a lot of our hosts have never done anything like this before! And we love that! Cheer them on when something goes awry and when it goes perfectly.

Support each other

We’re all figuring things out in real time. Celebrate, rather than critique emerging ideas. Cheer each other on as you try new things.  Try “Yes! And…” in conversation.

Not vibing?

It’s 100% okay when a FieldTrip does not resonate with you. Pop out quietly and try another experience later. Fill out the survey with your feedback (no dms to host or chat commentary, please.)
