Pet van de Luijtgaarden speaks on the ever growing pile of plastic in our oceans, our obsession of making things and the collection of collections.
About the speaker
Pet is an artists who is obsessed with the absurdity of the number of stuff we collect. “Shops are getting bigger, people keep buying and collecting. But what do we need all that for?” As a collector of collections Pet buys other peoples collections. G.I. Joe action dolls, frogs, VHS tapes, clogs, lanyards, games, Snoopy figurines.
Together they make up Gullivers verzamelingen. The collection is the largest and biggest collection of collections ever and covers an area of 14.000 m2 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
