About the speaker

Parisa Tashakori is a Boulder-based visual designer originally from Iran. She has worked as a designer and art director with international advertising agencies and cultural institutions and is currently Director of the Master of Interaction Design program at CU Boulder. With over 20 years of experience, Parisa has worn many hats, including graphic designer, art director, curator, and activist. She was a board member of the Iranian Graphic Designers Society in Tehran and led its exhibition section from 2012 to 2015 before moving to the US in 2017.

In all these roles, she has focused on social and cultural engagement, championing collaboration as a tool for equality, meaningful connections, and positive change. Her design projects have been presented at hundreds of exhibitions worldwide and have received many international awards. Her presence on the global design scene has inspired many young female designers. Parisa has also served as a jury member for major design competitions in Germany, Taiwan, France, Peru, Finland, Bolivia, and beyond.
