About the speaker
Mel “Melo” Dominguez is an artist, muralist from Los Angeles who has lived in Tucson since 2007. Her artwork is a direct expression of her Chicano/a culture, political issues, social issues and environmental issues. She users her creativity and activism to create a difference throughout the Tucson community. Mel recently launched Galeria Mitotera on South Fourth Avenue to give her and other local artists a studio and exhibition space when they are shut out from museums and galleries.
