By sharing his own ends and beginnings, and even his obituary, Matei offers a very insightful talk on how stories come to an end and how better ones are coming up next. Starting from the idea that the journey of a lifetime begins at the end of the world, the talk finishes with takeaways like: every nowhere is the middle of somewhere; there is always something else if you shift perspective; as creatives we have to learn how to be more vulnerable, how to take our chances in doing something we have not tried to do before; and being happy does not mean to be content…being content pushes you forward.
About the speaker
Matei Curtașu is a Freelance Creative Director and founder of Serenade Studios, a multidisciplinary venture focused on branded entertainment.
His creative journey has guided him to great people, places, and ideas, working across New York, Berlin, Moscow, Copenhagen, Hamburg and Bucharest.
In his roles from Copywriter to Executive Creative Director, he was involved in award-winning campaigns for Google, adidas, Nike, Mercedes-Benz, CNN and many more, projects which have received numerous accolades from the likes of Cannes Lions, Clio, D&AD, One Show, Art Director’s Club, etc.
Matei serves on the Advisory Board of SXSW, and participates on international award juries, as well as being a lecturer and speaker. He graduated from the Copenhagen Business School with a degree in Marketing Management and a Copywriter degree from Miami Ad School. He is currently enrolled for private pilot license training.
