What if you had a roadmap to get you through the very worst moments of your life? And what if— radical concept!— you walked willingly into change instead of resisting it? Life rarely moves in a straight line. Between detours, dead ends, deliberate turn offs we’re constantly beginning again. And yet our cultural conception of time is that it moves in a straight line birth to death and so these restarts are seen as a flight of fancy at best, a failure at worst. But what if we change our mythos to allow for the restart? What if beginning again is not the deviation but the expectation? What if we follow the cycles of nature and allow the symbolism of the natural world to guide us? Maia Toll explores the anatomy of the restart, so you can reimagine, and be at peace with, the wholeness of your own journey.

About the speaker

Family myth says the first word out of Maia Toll’s mouth was horsey, and Maia figures there’s no sense negating a good story. Plus her life has always been tied to the natural world—through dream and myth and symbol—so it wouldn’t be a great surprise if it all started with horsey. During a life-changing year apprenticed to a traditional medicine woman in Ireland, Maia learned healing craft working with both humans and animals on a local organic farm. Now she helps women reconnect with themselves through a connection with the rhythms of nature in her online programs, The Medicine Keepers Collective and Witch Camp. She is the founder and owner of Herbiary, a natural products store with locations in Asheville, North Carolina, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the author of The Illustrated Herbiary and The Illuminated Bestiary (September 2019). You can join her in the autumn for the Deep Magic Retreat near her home in the North Carolina mountains.
