CreativeLounge FieldTrip feat. Buckman Coe

April 9, 5:55pm - 8:00pm PDT. Hosted at CMVan | Purpose | Zoom

part of a series on Purpose

Additional details

One of the simpler but important pleasures that COVID-19 has taken from us is the ability to gather and enjoy live music. We are partnering with Locals Lounge to find ways to change that. Join us virtually for live music AND engaging conversation with the musicians and other participants we are calling “CreativeLounge”.

This evening’s guest will be multidisciplinary artist Buckman Coe. Buckman’s music has brought him around the world, but he’ll be streaming to us from right here at home in Vancouver. Expect an evening thought-provoking messages and heartstring-tugging music from Buckman and maybe some surprise guests.

TICKETS
We’ll be giving the first 50 members of the CMVan community FREE TICKETS, however for the rest of the public this is ‘pay to attend’ event with proceeds supporting the featured artist.
If you are able, you can make a donation we’d like to encourage you to do that.

If you weren’t able to get one of those 50 tickets, you can still attend. Access the event here: sidedooraccess.com/shows/ General ticket price is only $6.

ABOUT BUCKMAN COE
Buckman Coe is a seasoned performer, touring and performing at festivals in Canada, United States, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore, and Indonesia. Gathering Storm, Buckman Coe’s aptly-titled 7th release, comes as the follow up to Buckman Coe’s Altar (2018), a folk-driven album. While Altar is reminiscent of earlier Buckman Coe rootsy folk songs, Gathering Storm pools together a wider array of genres in Coe’s signature style. It is at times edgy and psychedelic, with guitar-driven sections and explorations into blues-tinged Americana, world, contemporary and throwback soul. Coe masterfully re-sculpts the conversations away from the binary of a political left or right and towards the universal goal of seeking romantic and spiritual well-being for everyone. With a big band sound and uplifting lyrics, Buckman Coe invites us all to grow in harmony.

ABOUT IAN CROMWELL
Ian Cromwell is a man who is easily bored. Born in Vancouver but spending half his life in Ontario, Ian’s pursuit of distraction led him down two very separate paths. By day, Ian is an academic whose research interests center on the economics of health care. By night, Ian has been a regular feature on stages within Vancouver’s music scene as a solo looping rock and soul artist. Since 2016, Ian has been host and curator of Locals Lounge, a live interview and performance series devoted to exploring Vancouver’s underground indie music scene and providing connection through shared experience. Ian is a Creative Mornings alumni, and spoke at our November 2018 event on the theme of restarting creativity. Watch his talk.. Pro tip: he does a looping performance at 5:02 of his talk.
