Liane Siu Slaughter is a multinational polymath and curious person. She earned her Ph.D. in chemistry and worked as a scientific researcher on three continents. Eventually, she realized she could serve science, people, and herself better if she took a break from climbing the academic ladder.

She now works as a freelance tutor, science writer, and career coach helping fellow nerds reach their academic and career goals. She also organizes and facilitates dances for Conscious Dance Hong Kong, where she's learned self-expression and leadership skills she wishes she (and most scientists) knew earlier.
