Additional details

The Other Box is an award-winning platform, for increasing diversity in the creative industries, celebrating people of colour and people from other underrepresented backgrounds.

It was founded by Leyya and Roshni, two creatives in design and advertising who happened to be brown, female, state-school educated second/third generation immigrants from working class backgrounds. As women of colour, they felt
left out of the diversity conversation. So they decided to change things.

They’ve combined their lived experience of everyday
exclusion and tokenism with academic knowledge of racism, intersectionality and radical histories of colonialism to challenge the lack of diversity in the workplace and make
it more than a box-ticking exercise.

Today they work strategically with global companies on diversity and inclusion through training and workshops, with brands on partnerships and campaigns, and they support a community of nearly 3,000 creatives. They’ve also recently expanded into the fashion and tech industries. The Other Box are also regularly invited to sit on panels, radio and TV shows for the likes of BBC, Apple, Facebook and Stylist Magazine, and also speak at events on issues around diversity, identity, community, culture and more.

Make sure to bring your own mug or reusable cup to get coffee! We want our events to be more sustainable and free of disposable cups.
