At Turner Broadcasting, Karyn Lu oversees the Insights & Inspiration team, keeping the brand current and encouraging them to experiment, take risks, and innovate. In her work, she scours for patterns and trends that Turner can implement. One of the biggest trends she’s discovered lately is ‘PLAY.’ She speaks on a few examples she has found and how she brought it to the company.

Karyn Lu oversees the Insights & Inspiration team at Turner Broadcasting. As part of Turner Media Group, Insights & Inspiration is charged with looking to the future and around the globe to identify emerging trends and opportunities, helping to drive innovation across Turner brands. Previously, Karyn was a user experience designer at CNN.com, where she co-founded CNN iReport. Karyn serves on the TEDxAtlanta programming committee, the Board of Directors for BurnAway, and is part of the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2014. Karyn holds a M.S. in Digital Media from Georgia Tech and a B.A. in English from Wellesley College. Outside of work, Karyn plays violin with Atlanta-based band Oryx & Crake. She lives in town with her husband Keith, their son Leo & dog Sputnik.
