About the speaker
This month’s global exploration of Game will be covered by Kadri Haljas. Kadri is the CEO of Triumf Gamification, a health technology startup based in Helsinki/Tartu. She is also a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, specialized in health psychology.
She will talk about her experience of using a game environment to reach out to children who are ill and in need for support. In general, games consist of three main components – the story, art and software. Kadri will discuss what happens when fourth component – the purpose – is added. She will talk about the concept of serious games from the perspective of how to incorporate a purpose to the game in a way that the storyline and the entertainment part come first.
„In healthcare the emphasis of development should always be placed on creating a solution that is both attractive and effective. To achieve this, stakeholders need to be included in the design process,“ says Kadri.
